Biography

Maria Burbridge is a trademark and litigation attorney who is passionate about intellectual property. Maria is a native Floridian and grew up in sunny South Florida with her close-knit Italian family, and she is the first attorney in a family of business executives and healthcare professionals. She knew from a young age that she needed to use her voice to advocate for those who are unable to advocate for themselves. After passing the Florida Bar Exam, Maria knew she wanted to return to Tampa to work at Stanton IP as an associate. With Bochner Maria works in the trademark group, as well as the litigation group.

Maria graduated cum laude from the University of South Florida with her Bachelor of Arts in Criminology. Maria has always had a passion for criminal justice and loves to volunteer for wrongful conviction initiatives. During her undergraduate studies, Maria was the Vice President of the USF Mock Trial Team and the Student Coordinator of the USF Pre-Law Department. After graduating from USF, Maria started her Intellectual Property career by working at Stanton IP Law as the Executive Administrator. (Fun fact: Maria was the first employee hired at Stanton IP!)

Maria knew she wanted to be an attorney, so she returned home to Fort Lauderdale where she attended the Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad College of Law. During her time there, Maria was heavily involved in extracurricular activities, holding an executive board position in the following organizations: Intellectual Property Law Society, Public Interest Law Society, Criminal Law Society, and Black Law Student Association. Maria was also involved in several honor organizations, including NSU Trial Association and Moot Court Society. Maria competed in several competitions, including the Saul Lefkowitz Moot Court Competition, a competition dedicated to the development of trademark and unfair competition law. During this time, Maria was promoted from administrator to law clerk at Stanton IP, working remotely with the trademark and litigation teams.

In her free time, Maria loves to spend time with her five nieces and nephews. Maria is also an avid reader, spending as much free time as she can with her nose in a book. Maria loves to spend her weekends outside, preferably playing basketball or looking for sea glass at the beach.
